OSVFB's primary mission is to protect Oak Shores residents and property by supporting and augmenting San Luis Obispo County Fire Department's 30 minute delayed response time to Oak Shores from its nearest fulltime fire station located in Heritage Ranch. Our volunteers include off duty and retired firefighters, EMTs, nurses and paramedics. The OSVFB is NOT a replacement for 911 emergency services, but is intended to fill the 30 minute window until county fire resources arrive on scene.
Are you interested in helping your community during an emergency? If so, we are always looking for new volunteers to join the Brigade. Contact us for an application today.
OSVFB relies 100% on donations and is not funded by dues from the Oak Shores Community Association. Donations are used to pay for firefighter and medical training, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like fire helmets, boots, brush jackets, brush pants, and emergency medical equipment. Donations are 100% tax deductible as charitable donations.
